In 1996, Garcia became the first-ever Colombian actress to star in a Mexican telenovela after landing the lead role in “Al norte del Corazon” aired on TV Azteca Channel. Her role as Eloisa Treviño gave Danna Garcia an entirely new audience, which led to more acting opportunities. After appearing in several TV shows, such as “Perro Amor,” “Hablame de Amor” and “La Revancha,” Danna Garcia landed another prominent role in the long-running program, “Pasion de Gavilanes.” Her character Norma Elizondo Acevedo, which Danna portrayed from 2003 to 2004, led to two awards – a Canal Caracol Awards for “Best Leading Actress” and an Orquidea Award.
Due to her increasing exposure in TV, Danna Garcia became the new Hispanic face for Mabelline New York in 2006. She then bagged a contract with the huge cosmetic firm, Garnier Fructis, promoting their hair products in ad campaigns and in print. Since then, Danna became an unstoppable force not only in her hometown Colombia or in Mexico, but also in North America. In 2008, Danna Garcia was included in the Top 99 women on AskMen.com’s Annual List and was named the most beautiful face in People en Español’s “Los 50 mas Bellos” List.
Danna Garcia is also seen on “Imaginate” in 1987, “Victoria” in 1995, “El Dia es Hoy” in 1996 and “Le Ravancha” in 2000. In 2004 to 2005, Danna portrayed Diana Maria Rivera in the telenovela “Te Voy a Enseñar a Querer,” followed by a role in “Corazon Partido” from 2005 to 2006.
Telemundo novellas just can’t get enough of Danna Garcia. In 2007, she joined the cast of another telenovela called “Decisiones,” followed by the 2008 Telemundo novella “La Traicion,” which starred Danna’s co-star in ‘Pasion de Gavilanes’ Mario Cimarro. Garcia portrayed Valentina ‘La Monita’ Lopez in the 2008 telenovela “Un Gancho al Corazon.” Danna Garcia’s latest work is seen on the Telemundo remake of “Lola Calamidades,” a 1990s Colombian soap opera.
